What is a Log Book Service?

A Log book service is a series of scheduled recommended services from the manufacturer in order to maintain the best performance of the vehicle.

Why do I need a Log Book Service?

Regular scheduled Log book servicing will maintain your new car warranty as well as keeping your vehicle safe to drive. Missing servicing can lead to much more costly repairs or breakdowns.

What happens if I miss a Service?

If you miss a service then things like filters can become clogged, oils may become too contaminated, or you might miss identifying a radiator leak. Not identifying problems early can be costly.

Do you have Loan cars and how much do they cost?

Yes, we have FREE loan cars available for our clients when they bring their cars in for a service or repair. Please advise us at time of booking.

Will I lose my New Car Warranty if I don't go back to the dealer?

I have lost my Log Book, do I need it?

If you are a regular customer, we will have all your history on file so we don't need your log book.

If you are a new customer, it is ideal if you have a log book, which tells us the vehicle's service history.

If not available, we start by doing a Minor Service, and we recommend a 65 Point Check, which enables us to comprehensively check over your car, and work out which aspects of a Major Service we believe you may be due for.

Do you provide Digital reports for the work you have done? or a digital report of what's wrong with my car?

You can request an electronic or paper copy of the invoice which includes work done and recommendations for future attention. These recommendations are prioritised into IMMEDIATE, BEFORE NEXT SERVICE, AT NEXT SERVICE or MONITOR (which means we will monitor it at next service and report back).

How long will the service take?

Depends on whether the service is Major or Minor, 2W or 4WD, and other factors.

How much will my service cost?

We prepare customised estimates upon request.

How can I pay for my Service?

EFT or Cash. Businesses with fleets of vehicles are able to apply for 30 day EOM accounts.

When are you Open?

We are open 8am-5pm Mon to Fri. On call 24/7 for roadside assistance.

Can I drop off my car after hours?

Drop off any time and leave keys in Key Drop box to the left of the workshop roller doors.

Is there a secure key drop off box after hours?

Yes, there is a secure key box to the left of the workshop roller doors for you to leave your keys. You can advise us at time of booking that you would like to do this.

Can I collect my car after hours?

Yes, by arrangement. Let us know at the time of booking that you need to pick up your car after hours.

Can you pick up my car from home?

Yes, we can pick up your car by arrangement.

Can you drop me home when I deliver my car for servicing or repair?

Yes, we can drop you home by arrangement.

What happens if something is not right after my car service?

We take great pride in our work, but if something doesn't seem quite right then just let us know. We welcome feedback and do our best to answer questions and resolve issues. Plus you have the added assurance of our REPCO Nationwide Warranty.

Will you give me reminders when my next sercive is due?

Yes we send reminders to all our clients.

Can my car be serviced at the same time it is repaired?

If the repairs were identified previously, and the job has been booked at the same time as a service, then yes.

How do I book my car in for a Log book service?

Best to phone Maranoa Mechanical and have a conversation with our experienced team so we capture all relevant information.

How often should I really service my car?

As per log book recommendations, however this can vary depending on the amount and type of kms the vehicle drives. You are welcome to ask what we recommend for your situation.

I don't drive much, do I still need a service?

Yes, it is highly recommended.

Can you fix other things while my car is being serviced?

Yes, providing those repairs have been booked at the time of service booking, so we have allocated time appropriately and ordered parts. When we identify things while servicing, it is unlikely we will be able to repair while on the hoist, unless we have time, parts available and owner's authorisation. Some very small tasks may be possible, but generally we will need more time or parts.

Can you wash my car?

All our clients can have their vehicle's washed in our St George workshop. Ask us at time of booking.

What type of oils and parts do you use?

We use Penrite Oil, and parts which we understand to be appropriate for the local conditions.
